Library

Library Corner
The library is the heart of our school, providing thousands of stories for our students to discover. To ensure every student has access to our collection, please keep these simple guidelines in mind.
Checking Out & Returning Books
Timely returns allow all students the opportunity to enjoy our most popular titles.
- Loan Period: Most books may be checked out for one week.
- Renewals: If a student needs more time to finish a book, they can bring it to the library to renew it. As long as there isn't a waiting list for that title, we are happy to extend the time.
Accelerated Reader (AR) Program
AR is a tool we use to track reading progress and celebrate student growth. To help your child succeed in the program, we suggest the following:
- Reading Levels: Encourage your child to choose books within their designated ATOS Book Level (BL) range. This ensures the material is "just right"—challenging enough to build skills, but comfortable enough to be enjoyable.
- Testing: We recommend students take their AR quiz within 24 hours of finishing a book while the details are still fresh. Please note that all quizzes must be taken on-site at school.
- Goal Setting: While points are a fun way to track volume, the primary focus of AR is comprehension. We celebrate this effort with AR Parties for students who meet their goals each trimester!
